Research Portfolio
Primary research is any type of research you conduct yourself such as questionnaires, polls or interviews. Below is a flipbook of the questionnaire i conducted for the Yare Gallery task. A questionnaire such as this is a good example of primary research as it's a fast, efficient way to measure subject opinions and preferences.
Below is a flipbook of the range of differing responses from the questionnaire i conducted.
Another example of primary research is carrying out an interview. Below is a screenshot of an interview i did based on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on my family. Interviews like this are a good example of primary research as they allow you to better explore a subjects' opinion or experience further.
Secondary Research
Secondary research is a method that involves using data and information that has been compiled by an existing source. Below is an example of secondary research into the band Radiohead and their style in terms of music video production.
This is a good example of secondary research as you can see i've used different external sources such as genius.com to analyse the meaning of the lyrics used in the song.
Quantitative Research
Quantitative research is a compilation of numerical data. Below is an example of quantitative research i've conducted using a poll to gather statistical data on people's opinions on COVID-19 and how it's affected them. This is a good example of quantitative research as it's number based.
Quantitative Responses
Below is a flipbook of the quantitative responses I gathered from my Yare Gallery task questionnaire. This is a good example as it displays evidence of statistical data.
Qualitative Research
Qualitative research is the method of gathering data that allows for a more detailed and subjective form of analysis. Below is a few examples of qualitative research i've conducted. They are good examples of qualitative research as the questionnaire I used received a variety of different subjective opinions.
Qualitative Responses
Below is a flipbook of qualitative responses i got from the questionnaires above.
Production Research
Below is my best example of pre-production which I conducted for the DEPICT assignment. I think this is the best example of production research as there is a wide range of pre-production techniques such as risk assessments, storyboards, recces, and releases which are all a crucial part of the pre-production process.
